Air Cannons!

1st Grade students continued their study of the properties of air and explored the power of air.  First, they felt the power of an "air cannon" that directed a strong blast of air towards them.  It was so surprising!  Next, the students used smaller air cannons to move small objects with air.  The students had a variety of objects to use and measured the distance that they could "launch" the objects.  The students noted that size, shape and weight, among other things, all contributed to the distance that air could "push" an object.
